Empower Magazine on-the-scene reporter, Iyanni Pradia, and mother, Lisa Pradia, were on the red carpet at the Hilton Houston Southwest for the first stop of the five-city Mommy & Me Vision Board Party & Expo tour.
The pair joined a host of enterprising mothers and daughters for a day of inspiration and empowerment as a power-packed group of panelists shared highlights and wisdom from their journeys.
The tour, the brainchild of celebrity event planner and founder of Millionaire Mommy Society, Sherrie Walton, and co-hosted by empowerment speaker, Joan Wright Good, was described by one attendee as an emotional experience that brought many of the mothers to tears but also uplifted them to pursue their purpose.
“I come across so many moms that are no longer inspired. They have tucked away their dreams to raise their families. I don’t believe you have to choose. You can have a great home life and a successful business at the same time,” said Walton on the inspiration for creating the empowerment tour.
Walton envisioned the event as an opportunity to inspire moms to dust off their dreams and to live their “best fearless confident life and to inspire their daughters to go after their dreams at an early age.”
“It’s time for women to connect to their true inner fearlessness, and be the women God has called them to be,” said Walton.
Panelists for the event included Kim Gagne, Emmy award-winning producer of The Steve Harvey Show, Jillian “JJ Simmons, 97.9 The Box radio personality; CleRenda McGrady, life coach and wife of NBA legend; Jacquelyn Aluotto, award-winning filmmaker and head of FUBU TV’s conscious content division; Ebony L. Thomas, founder and president of God’s Money, God’s Way; Almashea Spotser, owner & creator of AlmaRose Luxury diaper bags; and philanthropist, Laurie Dempsey. Featured kidpreneurs included Mikaila Ulmer, winner of the hit TV show Shark Tank and founder of BeeSweet Lemonade; Arooj Sheikh, Chasity Thomas, Kamryn Johnson and Saniya-Symone Scott.
Attendees developed vision boards and walked away with practical knowledge and how-to tips to ignite their dreams. VIP ticket holders received gift bags with products from women-owned brands such as GlammGirl. The event sponsors and partners included, Divinely Inspired Events, Walton Dynasty Films, Outsourcing Business Solutions, AlmaRose, Tech Trep Academy, The Party Palace, Neiman Marcus, EVO Cosmetics, 44 Entertainment Group, Jones Mitchell Group, Amazing 102.5, and Mielle Organics.
