Not only is Gabriel Silva an amazing child actor, he is on a mission to make a difference in the world.
I had a chance to meet and interview the gifted young actor at an open house hosted by Deloris Akins, owner of As 1 Akins Productions. The event gave guests an opportunity to celebrate the opening of her new acting school and production studio and to listen to industry talks with professional actors to gain insights on the industry.
When asked to share a word of advice with young entrepreneurs, Gabriel summed it up simply: “You are never too young to follow your dreams.”
Gabriel is proof of that as he makes a name for himself in the film industry. At 12 years old, he has already appeared in the blockbuster film, Live by Night, with A-list actor, Ben Affleck and Grammy-award-winning singer, Miguel. He also has a role in an upcoming Hollywood film co-starring Academy Award nominees Vera Farmiga and Sally Hawkins as well as O’Shea Jackson, Jr. (Ice-Cube’s son).
During my interview, I learned something you might not know about Gabriel Silva, he is also an anti-bullying activist. He has launched his own anti-bullying clothing line, Take Action Apparel & Gear. He and his mother have also started a magazine to remember people who have lost their lives from bullying and to spread awareness to combat bullying.
The open house not only gave those in attendance an opportunity to meet industry professionals, but to also learn about the classes offered at As 1 Akins Productions.
