The stage was set Sunday night for the launch of Next Level Houston, a new live music experience showcasing up-and-coming music talents in Houston.
The event kicked off with a red carpet followed by a energy-pumping night of powerhouse performances.
A select group of talented artists took to the stage to wow audience members at the Galleria-area Hess Club with an eclectic mix of R&B and soul to sultry Jazz and Gospel performances.
The brain child of four nationally recognized heavy-hitters in the music industry, Grammy award-winning songwriter/vocalist and Prince protege, Tamar Davis, Chris “DJ Cruise Control” Williams of BPM Music Group, Pat Williams of the Pat Williams Group and Greta Williams of the Greta Williams Group , the platform aims to shine the light on local performers and elevate Houston as a hub for musical entertainment.
The night of show-stopping performances did not disappoint as hosts Davis and R&B superstar, Leela James introduced a talented line-up of performers, including GRAMMY® award-winner, Ahrel Lumzy, Shonnie Murrell, Gene Moore, Shelia Moore-Piper and Christina Collins, who ignited a fire of anticipation for upcoming Next Level monthly music performances at the Galleria venue.
Davis closed out the night performing a mini-set of songs, including a powerful rendition of Sam’s Smith’s “Lay Me Down” and an emotion-filled performance of former mentor and friend, Prince’s signature “Purple Rain” bringing the crowd to their feet.
