Miami Beach was the place to be this past weekend, as REVOLT Music hosted the 2015 REVOLT Music Conference (RMC), themed, “The Merging of Music, Technology and Innovation,” at the renowned Fontainebleau Hotel in Florida Oct. 15 – 18.
The information-packed four day conference gave attendees the opportunity to personally interact with leaders from the music and technology industries, network and gain insights from industry trailblazers, network and enjoy showstopping musical performances, REVOLT live tapings, sponsor activations, and more.
At the start of the conference, REVOLT chairman, Sean “Diddy” Combs, was presented with the keys to the city of Miami Beach by Mayor Philip Levine. During the event, Combs presented Antonio “L.A.” Reid, chairman and EO of Epic Records with the “Started From The Bottom Award and discussed the legendary music executive’s influence on music.
To kick off the event, REVOLT CEO Keith Clinkscales and Marc Ecko, CEO of Mark Ecko Enterprises and Founder of Complex took part in a special Q&A to share their industry insights.
A wealth of information was shared by industry heavy hitters, including leading executives, hit-making producers, influencers discussed a variety of topics including, The Art of Making a Hit: The Lost Art of A&R, From Start Up to IPO, The Power of Radio, Behind the Brand: The Women Who Shape Brands in Music, Entertainment and Advertising, and many more.
Featured panelists included Troy Carter, chairman and CEO of Atom Factory, Angie Martinez, On Air Talent at Power 105.1, DJ Mustard, producer, Rico Love, Jay Brown, Big Boy, On Air Talent at The Real 92.3, Mike Will Made It, producer, co-founder and CEO of Roc Nation, James Cruz, manager to Sean Combs & CEO at Cruz Control Marketing, David Banner, artist/ producer/ actor, Derek Ferguson, chief operating officer at REVOLT, and more.
The line-up of performers included Puff Daddy & The Family (Sean “Diddy” Combs) which featured Lil Kim, Lil Wayne, French Montana, Los, Christian Combs and Busta Rhymes. Rick Ross and Nas performed on the Friday night Yacht Party aboard the SeaFair Miami. Other performers included: Jidenna, Travis Scott, Dej Loaf, BJ the Chicago Kid, Post Malone, Ear Drummer Presents Mike Will Made-It & Friends, Bryson Tiller and Kehlani entertained attendees. Robin Thicke closed out the event with a gala dinner performance.
