It was the fairy tale wedding of the year – complete with prince and princess – as Crystle Stewart, Miss USA 2008 and cast member on Tyler Perry’s “For Better or Worse,” tied the knot with beau, Maxime Sebrechts in an elegant ceremony in Spring, Texas.
Belgian-born Sebrechts, an international model, dated Stewart for 3 years before popping the question on Labor Day of last year after flying Stewart in by helicopter to her family’s Missouri City home for a surprise proposal.
The couple’s wedding ceremony took place Aug. 9 at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church and was presided over by Very Rev. Norbert Maduzia, Jr., E.V., D.MIN. Stewart’s childhood pastor, Dr. Michael P. Williams delivered the Homily and co-pastor, Taylor Dimes, Jr. of The Genesis Church, shared in ceremonial readings, followed by a musical selection by the Voices of Genesis Choir.
The wedding party included parents, Robert and Cynthia Stewart and Tony and Martine Sebrechts; matrons of honor, Akwanza Watson and Ja’Nayle Jones; maid of honor, Candice Henderson; and Best Men, David De Vroey and Nicolas De Keijser accompanied by an exquisitely-clad host of attendants.
The date (Aug. 9) marked the anniversary of Stewart’s own parents’ wedding nuptials.
For the occasion, Stewart donned a stunningly beautiful strapless wedding gown accented with an elegantly bejeweled bridal crown and necklace as she was escorted down the aisle by her father.
Movie mogul, Tyler Perry and “For Better Or Worse” cast members, Jason Olive, Cocoa Brown and Kiki Haynes, graced the audience as the couple exchanged vows in an elegant ceremony filled with moments of light-hearted laughter.
After sealing the deal with style and class, the newly-married pair descended the stairs of the church to travel to the elegant Chateau Cocomar, a hidden-away event venue in Champion Forest, where they entertained guests into the night and early morning with a spectacular evening of food, fellowship and fun.
The wedding meal consisted of filet mignon and pistachio crusted redfish with rosemary and garlic roasted potatoes along with a seasonal vegetable medley as they shared in The Sebrechts’ night of celebration.
The couple departed the reception lounge and returned moments later to entertain their guests with a ‘First Dance’ like no other. The Sebrechts broke through a lightly-sheathed performance door in dramatic fashion, and performed a high-energy Dancing With the Stars-like dance number that brought the crowd to their feet from start to finish.
The celebratory mood continued throughout the night as parents and friends gave special toasts, the couple engaged in a Newlywed Game-style Q&A and guests received one-of-a-kind photo booth keepsakes.
The newlyweds closed out the night in royal fashion as they descended the stairs of the chateau beneath an arch of sparklers, held by family and friends, before departing for the start of their new life.
The couple will make their home in Los Angeles.
