Denzel Washington and Viola Davis to star in August Wilson’s “FENCES”

A new film adaptation of August Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, FENCES, will be released in theaters on Christmas Day, starring Oscar-winning actor, Denzel Washington and Primetime Emmy Award-winning actress, Viola Davis.

The powerhouse acting duo join forces on the big screen after sharing the stage in a Broadway revival of August Wilson’s “Fences.”  The pair both won Tony Awards for their performances in the stage play.

The film, which Washinton also directs and produces, tells the story of a former Negro Baseball League player turned garbageman (played by Washington) whose bitterness impacts the lives of his family.

Distributed by Paramont Pictures, the movie also stars Jovan Adepo, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Russell Hornsby, Mykelti Williamson, and Saniyya Sidney.
