On the heels of her epic Billboard Music Awards performance, Janet Jackson will take center stage as one of the headline performers at the 2018 ESSENCE Festival in New Orleans.
The festival takes place July 5-8 in New Orleans.
The power of women will be on full display as Mary J. Blige also headlines the night time performances at the Mercedes-Benze Superdome along with top performances from Erykah Badu and Jill Scott. Snoop Dogg, Jossie Smollet, Ledisi, Ella Mai, Keke Wyatt also are slated to perform in addition to a special musical curation by The Roots. For a full line up of performers, click here.
The popular festival willshowcase an eclectic mix of R&B, Hip Hop and Soul featuring Xscape, 112, Fantasia, Blackstreet and Guy and Wreckx-n-Effect, and more.
Other highlights include a first-time appearance by D-Nice as Mainstage DJ joined by host, Roy Wood, Jr of The Daily Show as Mainstage host. Actor and musician Idris Elba and MC Lyte will get the festival pumping at the turntables as a first time interactive podcast and music experience also makes its debut featuring Kid Fury and Crissle of The Read hosting a Superlounge.
Rounding out the festival experience will be a empowering slate of workshops and experiences, including a reintroduction of the ESSENCE Festival Beauty Bungalow, an extension of the festival’s Beauty and Style Expo, featuring all things beauty and fashion.
