The Heights Villa in Houston was transformed into a Valentine’s Day-themed venue filled with red roses, decked out attendees and hearts ready to give and receive love as Grammy-award winning gospel artist, Kim Burrell hosted “Love Night” to a packed-house of party-goers on Feb. 12.
Music was provided by Johnny B. Williams, gospel singer Brian Courtney Wilson and the Grammy-nominated and multiple Stellar Award winning Burrell, herself. Burrell dazzled in several outfit changes and a slimmed down figure. She was transparent in sharing her story of suffering several heart attacks but finding the will to live and become healthy not for herself, but for her young son.
Her tenacity of spirit also was evident as she emceed the event rocking a stiletto on one foot and a support boot on the other following a recent injury. Her humor, down-to-earth nature, and effervescent personality truly made the evening enjoyable.
Burrell fans traveled from across the country to attend the Valentine’s Day event which included a best-dressed contest and competition to see which couple knew one another better.
“Love Night” was full of laughter, dining, and music, but the message of the evening was poignant: do not give into jealousy or envy of others – love yourself.
