Spoiled by Design Original, Ltd presented the Simply Beautiful Collection, which showcased a number of eclectic designs to a hand picked audience of about 20 fashion lovers at LAMIK Beauty to kick off the fall and winter looks of 2014.

The mother and daughter design duo Diannetta Chargois and Tramaine Chargois Singleton, respectfully, introduced the first of four collections of the evening as the SBD Formal Wear and Something Borrowed line.  SBD Formal Wear and Something Borrowed is a part of the SBD Community Partnership Program where the company rents and sells elegant bridesmaids dresses, tuxedos and gowns to those who are unable to purchase them at department store value.

The models of the evening graced the runway in original and gently worn gowns and bridesmaids dresses in various shades of green and gray, who were accompanied with male models decked out in fitted three piece suits accentuated with either a cream bowtie or a gray striped tie.

SBD Vintage collection was all about the funk era.  Lots of dark oranges, marigolds, chocolate browns and psychedelic stripes were incorporated in the blouses and trousers. The vintage line brought life to an exciting time in designer Chargois’ life.

“My mom started sewing and designing in the sixties, it was a very exciting time in both of our lives.  I was very much inspired by her, so I started drawing dresses and designing clothes when I was just a little girl,” Singleton said.

SBD Originals is designed for career women. This collection was inspired by the Mahogany era. It included earth toned capes and gauchos for the fall/winter.

Singleton said another form of inspiration for the outerwear came from the hit television show Scandal.

Actress, Kerry Washington’s character Olivia Pope can be seen working around the Washington D.C. area in white capes and double-breasted trench coats, a look that is highly anticipated during the winter months.

With over 20 years in designing and styling, SBD Originals has proven there is longevity in passion.
