As 2014 draws to a close, Empower Magazine takes a look back at its Top 10 Most Viewed business, entertainment and community interest stories of the year that captured your attention. Click on the links below to view the stories that had Empower Magazine readers talking.

Topping the list is Empower Magazine’s coverage of the wedding nuptials of Miss USA 2008 and “For Better or Worse” cast member, Crystle Stewart as she tied the knot with beau, Max Sebrechts, in an elegant ceremony in Texas.

Fans of Aaliyah caused this story to soar in 2014 as Empower Magazine paid homage to the talented singer that died to soon.

Missouri City native Crystle Stewart struck gold twice with readers who flocked to hear news of her 2013 surprise proposal to beau, Max Sebrechts, as he went to romantic heights to ask her hand in marriage.

Nzuri product founder Leola Anifowoshe’s success in getting her natural hair care products into select H-E-B stores drew natural hair aficionados to this business success story.

8. Frenchy’s opens new restaurant in Missouri City, Texas

The Frenchy’s brand is growing across Houston and so is interest in the family-owned restaurant as readers made No. 8 on Empower Magazine’s list of the top viewed stories of 2014.  Founder Percy Creuzot, Jr. vision of bringing New Orleans style cuisine to the Houston area also made the cover of Empower Magazine’s Holiday print issue which is available in news stands now!

9. Former NBA player launches Christian Sports Apparel Brand

Former Houston Rocket player Lanny Smith put his money where his faith is with the launch of his Christian Sports Apparel Brand.  This athlete-turned-businessman story spotlight was a hit with EM readers in 2014.
