Oprah’s The Life You Want Weekend to make stop in Houston

(Last Updated On: June 30, 2016)

It has been a dream of mine forever to create an event where you can wake up to all of your potential and your possibilities. If you come and spend two days with me and a team of true life trailblazers – Deepak Chopra, Elizabeth Gilbert, Iyanla Vanzant, Mark Nepo and Pastor Rob Bell – your life is going to light up. I’m telling you, it’s going to be so good. – Oprah Winfrey

She dreamed it, and now Houston will have a chance to live it as, Harpo Studios, O, The Oprah Magazine, OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network and WME Live join forces to bring ‘Oprah’s The Life You Want Weekend’ to Houston.

The  eight-city arena tour kicked off in Atlanta, Ga., and on its fifth stop is headed to the Bayou City for The Life You Want Weekend Logoan unprecedented two-day transformational weekend set for Friday, Oct. 17 and Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Toyota Center.

The event, sponsored by Olay and Toyota,  will be unlike any other Houston has seen as Winfrey, and an inspired team of handpicked thought leaders and pop culture icons come together in a one of a kind intimate evening of inspiration and wisdom.

For the weekend experience, Olay and Toyota’s sponsorships are natural fits. “When women feel their best beautiful, they feel stronger, more confident and empowered,” says Lela Coffey, marketing director of North American Beauty Care at Procter & Gamble. “Olay is excited to be partnering with ‘Oprah’s The Life You Want Weekend’ to spread the message that women should never have to settle and help them put their best face forward – the best possible version of themselves every day.”

“At Toyota, we believe in inspiring our guests to go places they may never have imagined possible,” said Jack Hollis, vice president marketing, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. “By partnering with ‘Oprah’s The Life You Want Weekend,’ we hope to empower countless women from coast to coast to strive toward greater levels of achievement.”

The weekend will ignite on Friday night as Oprah takes to the stage to share her personal story and insights  with audience members.  Then on Saturday, she will lead a thought-provoking dialogue with special guests: world-renowned author and pioneer in mind-body medicine Dr. Deepak Chopra, Iyanla Vanzant, star of OWN’s hit series “Iyanla Fix My Life,” regular O Magazine contributor, best-selling author and spiritual life coach; best-selling author of Eat Pray Love, Elizabeth Gilbert; and one of Time 100’s Most Influential people, Pastor Rob Bell.

Paralympian and “Dancing With the Stars” finalist, Amy Purdy will join Oprah on Saturday for Toyota’s “Standing O-Vation,” to recognize extraordinary people in communities across the country and to celebrate remarkable women who are not only making the world a better place, but also motivating others to spark their own journey of personal change.

Over the course of the two-day event, guests will have a chance to experience O Town, a pop-up town square outside the venue that promises to be an exciting hub of music, activity, food and celebration throughout the tour.

Guests also can look forward to an exciting mix of entertainment, celebrity interactions, as well as relaxation and pampering throughout the weekend. Event sponsors include Olay, Toyota, IKEA, Wells Fargo, CoverGirl, Pantene, Tide, Bounty, Crest, Beats by Dr. Dre, and Lisette.

The next stops on the tour include Miama, Fl., Seattle, Wa., and San Jose, Ca.
