Today despite all the advances in modern medicine, we have more disease than any other time in history. Why is this happening?
The main reason is our foods. Frankly we are no longer eating food, but in many cases we are eating ” food like substances” In the name of Profit many companies have filled once healthy food with artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, and fillers. Other foods are being genetically modified, to grow faster, cost less and last longer.
The real challenge here is we don’t completely understand what the long term affects of this kind of food manipulation can be. Many of these chemical additives are not only cheaper but highly addictive, this keeps consumers coming back for more, making corporations more profit at the expense of their customers health.
Diseases are at an Epidemic Level:
- 1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. American Cancer Society
- Children born after the year 2000 have a 30% probability of developing Diabetes. The American Diabetes Society
- 68% of Americans are obese. 2/3 of illness are obesity related. Department of Health
- 10% of All Children are now being diagnosed with ADD and ADHD Department of Health
The irony here is that despite all of our medical break through’s and technological advances, as a society we seem to be getting sicker. Diseases that were rare or didn’t exist 50 years ago are now common place, like Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Rare Cancers, MS, Acid Reflux, and Alzheimers.
Part of the solution is gaining knowledge, becoming more aware of what things should be avoided and what should be embraced.
