Coming out of its seventh week, the National Football League is still sporting an elite class of undefeated. The short list includes the New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, Carolina Panthers and Cincinnati Bengals.
Now here’s how EM Sports sees it going into week eight:
The 6-0 New England Patriots had a close one against the NY Jets, but continue to out-score their opponents. Tom Brady’s quest for continued greatness remains intact. At Age 38, Brady appears to be on pace for setting yet another QB stats record. The Patriots’ defense continues to show up for every games as they did this past Sunday against the Jets. It’s not hard to see why the Patriots remain the odds-on favorite to repeat as Superbowl Champs.
Next Three Weeks Line-up: Dolphins (3-3); Redskins (3-4); Giants (4-3).
The 6-0 Denver Broncos riding on the shoulders of their stiff defense to stay undefeated enjoyed a much needed bye-week. I am quite sure that Peyton Manning and the D-offense are making the most of their time off to retool and re-energize. Denver clearly has an outside chance of staying perfect in the win column, but they have got to figure out a way to get past Aaron Rogers and the 6-0 Pacs.
Next Three Weeks Line-up: Packers (6-0); Colts (3-4); Chiefs (2-5).
The 6-0 Green Bay Packers are also coming off a bye-week. Their balanced offensive and defensive attack makes them a formidable match-up for the Broncos. It is definitely hard to bet against Aaron Rogers and the Pacs, but Peyton Manning and the Broncos’ offense are way overdue for a breakout game. Yet, the Packers are still strong candidates to stay undefeated throughout the course of the season.
Next Three Weeks Line-up: Broncos (6-0); Panthers (6-0); Lions (1-6).
The 6-0 Carolina Panthers‘ offense, on the legs and arm of Cam Newton, continue their winning ways. But their top tier defense was tested by the Philadelphia Eagles who pulled off several big plays and won in the turnover battle. Indeed, it will probably be hard for Carolina to keep winning the close ones. The ball is bound to bounce one too many times against them.
Next Three Weeks Line-up: Colts (3-4); Packers (6-0); Titans (1-5).
The 6-0 Cincinnati Bengals coming off a bye-week will be laying in wait for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Bengals’ excellent talent in skill positions on both sides of the ball will be well rested and a hard assignment for the Steelers. Cincinnati is definitely pressing hard to make this their breakout year by defeating all takers and winning it all. They appear to have the easiest schedule over the next few weeks.
Next Three Weeks Line-up: Steelers (4-3); Browns (2-5); Texans (2-5).
