As a flight attendant my work day is not your typical 9-5, think more like 8-15 hour days, which can include weather delays, crying babies, full flights, and a few angry passengers that are not so happy with those delays. After a long day of flying, I was so ready to kick off my patent leather pumps and relax in the NYLO Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island.
I was aesthetically pleased with NYLO Hotel’s chic loft style design. NYLO which stands for New York lofts, has 12 boutique properties across the country, all which are uniquely designed to truly create an experience of urban comfort and luxury. NYLO Hotel Rhode Island, is an old warehouse that was renovated to complement the New England area beaches and marina by adding a touch of industrial luxe and nautical inspirations throughout the hotel.
Relaxation began the moment I entered NYLO hotel. I was greeted by a welcoming and accommodating hotel staff upon entering the lobby. A library nook is also located in the lobby area, retro styled hanging chairs are very persuasive, inviting you to curl up, relax, and read a good book.
However, I skipped over to The LOFT Bar and Restaurant, a cocktail was calling my name to wind down after a stressful day. But, this wasn’t your average bar in a hotel, it was beautifully designed in calming shades of blue and accented with eclectic pieces throughout. I loved the lounge area that was adjacent, it featured a very chic, crisp white pool table, if you’re up for a posh game of pool.
After a much needed cocktail, it was dinner with a few friends and live music on the patio that overlooked the Pawtuxet River. The New England area is known for it’s seafood, so I wasn’t surprised when I opted for the lobster on a buttered grill brioche roll, it was delectable! The night was winding down and it was time to make my final assessment of this impressive hotel, a review of my slumbering digs…my room. I had anticipated trying NYLO’s signature bed, NYLO LYTE, claiming to be the most comfortable in the industry.
It was as if I walked into my very stylishly designed bedroom. Soft incandescent lighting, with touches of industrial chicness, the bed was summoning me to come over and I didn’t argue. Pure comfort! This was just what I needed to relax and unwind from a very long day in the skies.
Whenever you decide to visit, you can thank me later!
