Diane Tezeno

Diane Tezeno is managing editor of Empower Magazine and online content manager for TheEmpowerMag website. She manages the editorial process for the publication, sources out content and writes and edits business, entertainment and community interest articles to empower and educate business owners and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.

A former newspaper reporter with Houston Community Newspapers Fort Bend, Sugar Land and Katy Sun editions, she brings more than 20 years of communications and editorial, and 15 years of graphic design, experience to her current role.

As director of publicity, communications and marketing for the Bethel’s Place Black Chamber of Commerce, she works to establish alliances with businesses of all sizes to help businesses remain viable in an ever-increasing global marketplace. Her desire is to provide entrepreneurs with the tools to build thriving businesses that develop economic power, provide jobs and revitalize communities.

Owner of Savvy Productions, a Missouri City-based media relations and publishing firm, she utilizes her media background and inside knowledge of the newspaper industry to help clients gain media coverage and develop industry-standard press releases.  She also offers a range of self-publishing services from ghostwriting, editing and proofreading to online web content development, book publishing and marketing.

She is former editor and publisher of Business Savvy, a bi-monthly community-based news publication, promoting small businesses, entrepreneurs and start ups in the Fort Bend County and surrounding communities.  In the corporate arena, she served as editor of the Benefits Pulse & Benefits Line and produced numerous employee publications, including Benefits-in-Brief, Profiles in Service and CMC Tribute.

She is a graduate of University of Texas at Austin with a degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing.  A native of Houston, Texas, she enjoys writing, traveling, watching movies, book publishing and empowering small business owners and the next generation of aspiring entrepreneurs.  She is married to David Tezeno, a law enforcement professional and former police chief, and has two daughters, Courtney and Chelsea, and two sons, Delvric and Daven.
