First-time author, Sheila Roach Jones, shines the light on her faith and the many ways God has shown up in her every day life in her new 40-day devotional, Knowing Jesus.

The Houston native began emailing personal devotionals to family and friends nine years ago and decided to compile them in a book to share them with a broader audience.

“My intent was to inspire my family and friends, and in return I got so much encouraging feedback that I thought putting the devotionals in a book would be a good way of sharing them with more people,” said Jones.

Jones shares her love and faith in God with readers and conveys how God awakens her spirit to see his presence and power in the everyday experiences of life.

A graduate from the University of Texas in Austin with a degree in electrical engineering, Jones developed her own personal relationship with Christ in her early 30’s and looks for daily opportunities to encourage and share the love of God with others she encounters.

“I grew up attending church, but it was not until I was in my early thirties that I became born again,” said Jones.

Since that time, she has been led to start radio and local cable television ministries under the name “Knowing Jesus” and has ministered to the homeless as well as led Bible studies in various venues.

She hopes the 40-day devotional will encourage individuals, young and old, to slow down from their busy lives and set aside time each day to tune in and connect with God for guidance and inspiration.

“My desire is that this devotional will draw you near to Him,” said Jones.
