After a year riddled with uncertainty, Dr. Jacque Colbert is ringing the cancer-free bell and raising funds for Breast Cancer prevention announcing the 2nd Annual Pink & Black Fundraiser Gala

Houston, TX – Today Dr. Jacque Colbert announced the date for the Annual Pink & Black – Breast Cancer Fundraiser Fashion Show Gala taking place on October 16th. The event supports the initiatives of local Houston Non-Profit organization “The Rose,” in which 100% of the proceeds are donated from the event. While October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, Dr. Colbert a 13-year breast cancer survivor understands that October for many symbolizes another year breast cancer free. Dr. Colbert plans to celebrate survivors fabulously with her annual Pink themed event while raising funds to cover the cost of mammograms.

Why Support the cause?

As the world focuses on trying to find a solution to COVID-19, the domino effect of some of the decisions being made could potentially impact the lives of others as elective surgeries have been limited. Dr. Colbert has pledged to help save the lives of women, one mammogram at a time. During the pandemic elective surgeries such as lumpectomies and other related breast surgeries are being delayed because of the COVID mandates. Dr. Colbert plans to leave no “Breastie” behind in her fight to advocate for women of color in the fight against breast cancer. Women of color are leading in morality rates, 31% of women that die each year from Breast Cancer are women of color. Dr Colbert has worked with the Department of Defense on research studies and plans to continue to advocate on behalf of women by spreading the word about resources, such as mobile units, monthly breast exams, and raise much needed funds for those impacted by the pandemic to get the treatment necessary for early detection.
