Mammograms to Save Lives
Dr. Jacque Colbert hosts the inaugural Pink & Black Gala honoring breast cancer survivors
around the Houston area, 100% or proceeds to be donated to The Rose to cover mammograms for the insured and uninsured alike.

Houston, Texas – October marks another Breast Cancer Awareness month and Dr. Jacque Colbert is celebrating survivors fabulously at Pink & Black – A Breast Cancer Fundraising Fashion Gala. The gala, in partnership with The Rose, will be held from 7-10 pm, Oct. 19 at Hotel Derek, 2525 W. Loop S. Houston, Texas 77027, and will raise funds to cover the cost of mammograms.

As of 2015, only 64 percent of women in the U.S. had a mammogram in the past 2 years. Only 31 percent of uninsured women received one, and, though routine screenings are not recommended for men, about 2,670 invasive male breast cancer diagnoses are expected during 2019.

The Sipping PositiviTEA owner and 11-year breast cancer survivor is a professor and corporate coach. After being diagnosed and battling extreme illness and treatment, however, she founded Sipping PositiviTEA, a lifestyle brand that encourages and helps women remain strong through organizational aides, affirmations, and positivity intake, including her line of herbal tea. She is keeping with the theme of positivity and strength by honoring women who have found their own way through their fight with breast cancer.
