Child actress, Princess Jackson has joined forces with the Houston Texans YMCA to host a Christmas Drive benefiting Houston’s homeless.

The event takes place 8 a.m. – noon on Dec. 23, 2016 at the Houston Texans YMCA, 5202 Griggs Road in the Palm Center complex.

This year marks the 4th year that the teen has hosted the holiday drive to encourage the community to donate new socks to the homeless – a simple, but essential article of clothing many take for granted.

Houston Texans YMCA Director John Williams commended Jackson’s compassionate spirit.

“We are excited to partner with Princess Jackson’s organization Sock Out Poverty,” said Houston Texans YMCA Director John Williams. “It’s great when young people want to give back to the community. Partnering with a nonprofit that lines up with our core values to benefit the community is always a great thing!”

Jackson will join members of the Houston Texans cheerleaders in signing autographs for attendees from 8 – 10 a.m. as the Houston-based nonprofit receives donations of new socks for the homeless and less fortunate.  The event also is slated to feature a special performance by I Am Justified.

To date, Jackson has donated over 10,000 pairs of socks since the inception of Sock Out Poverty, Inc., a 501c3 that provides socks, clothing and other material goods to men, women, boys, and girls who are in need or less fortunate.

“My goal is for everyone to have a pair of socks who needs them,” said Sock Out Poverty Founder Princess Jackson. “I am looking forward to partnering with the Houston Texans YMCA and donating socks to the communities they serve is going to be fun and continues to get one step closer to passing out socks all over the world!”
