This past week in Houston at the NRG Reliant Center on July 20th, a number of the biggest names involved in the Houston music scene were honored at the 2nd Annual GO DJ Awards Show. The event was all about up-and-coming Houston talent who are making names for themselves in the music industry.

There was a larger than expected wealth of attendees which included Bun B of UGK, Beat King, Just Brittney, Rap-A-Lot, Wicked Cricket, in addition to a number of other highly influential Houstonians, artists, and music industry figures.

The Red Carpet Extraveganza that kicked things off was succeeded by a special awards tribute to several outstanding leaders in the community; Isiah Carey of FOX 26 News – Houston, Attorney and Mayoral Candidate Ben Hall,  Craig Joseph, Sr. owner of This Is It Soul Food, and Karen Carter Richards – CEO and Publisher of Forward Times.

And, among the many awards presented, EM wanted to send out a well deserved Congrats to the 2015 “DJ of the Year“, Mr. Rogers of 93.7FM The Beat – H-Town’s REAL Hip-Hop and R&B.
