Clubmates is a web series about a group of social misfits doing whatever it takes to save their poetry club from disbandment and the hilarity that ensues as they receive some bad news in the form of a white letter. Friendships are made, alliances forged, relationships tested, and over the course of the season, challenges will be met by the full force of the Clubmates.
With your support, we will make an awesome web series that will serve as a platform to showcase the diversity and talent available in the local and regional film & entertainment industry.
What We Need & What You Get
In order to complete Season 1 (episodes 2 – 5) we need to raise at least $12,000. When you watch the pilot episode and the campaign video you will see this is not your typical web series. Rather, it is an ambitious show that will feature a large ensemble cast and a unique perspective on the value of creative thinking and the importance of teamwork.
The Impact
Tracie Jenkins (show creator and writer) wanted to develop a show making use of the diversity she has known her whole life. As with many “misfit” kids, artistic clubs provided the validity and camaraderie she was seeking as a young adult and Clubmates reflects, in an entertaining and poignant way, the process by which creative people come to terms with themselves and others. Oh yeah, it’s also pretty funny.
Spread The Word
We need your financial support, but that’s not the only way you can help! Spread the word about our campaign – talk to friends and family, let people know that you support Clubmates.
