Empower Magazine will be on hand to cover the exciting happenings at the 2015 Essence Festival to be held July 2-5 in New Orleans.

The four-day entertainment-packed festival will feature the best in music, celebrity speakers, empowerment sessions, and more, at the New Orleans Superdome this Fourth of July weekend. Presented by Coca-Cola, this year’s event marks the 21st year that Essence has hosted the celebrated festival.

Whether you are making plans to attend the Essence Day Party Series, Essence Festival nightly concerts, Empower U 2015, the Essence Empowerment Experience or sign up for this year’s Essence Day of Service, a variety of events and festivities have been planned to both educate, empower and entertain.

The Essence Day Party Series will kick off on July 2 featuring the talents of DJ Cassidy, Funkmaster Flex, Spinderella, Biz Markie and DJ Drama.

A host of top performers are slated to perform at the festival’s nightly concerts at the Superdome, including:

On Thursday, July 2, Kevin Hart will headline in the Essence Festival “Now Playing” Concert on his “What Now? Tour” with opening acts, LeCrae and Trey Songz.

Author Dr. Deepak Chopra makes his first appearance at the festival, and will be joined by an exciting line up of speakers,  including Rev. Al Sharpton, Iyanla Vanzant, Sybrina Fulton, Lynn Whitfield, Claudia Jordan, Shaun T, and more, to empower and share insights with festival goers.

The festival also will shine the spotlight on gospel recording artist Kim Burrell in an all-star gospel tribute.

On July 4, Steve Harvey will bring “The Steve Harvey Dating Show” to the Essence Festival experience.

Also, just announced performers Lalah Hathaway and Jonathan McReynolds  will bring exciting performances center stage in the Super Lounge.
