Fifth Harmony, clad in fiery red, rocked the stage throughout the night for their Rodeo Houston debut performance Friday at the NRG stadium.
The girl group that formed on the second season of the X-Factor commanded the stage throughout the evening kicking off with girl empowerment lyrics in “That’s My Girl,” “Miss Movin’ On,” “Reflection,” intermixed with “Sledgehammer, “Not That Kinda Girl” and “This is How We Roll” songs.
Group member, Normani Kordei, who made her home in the Houston-area after Hurricane Katrina, expressed appreciation and excitement about her return to her stomping ground and promised a night of high energy performances. “There is no better place to be than in this moment right now,” Kordei told the roaring crowd of rodeo fans.
Kordei not only has begun making her mark as a member of the now, four-part Fifth Harmony, but was selected to compete on Season 24’s Dancing With the Stars which kicks off on Monday. Fellow group members lauded praise on Kordei for her achievements before bringing DWTS partner Val Chmerkovskiy on stage for a surprise appearance.
During the night, the group slowed things down with “Write On Me” and brought in a Reggae beat with “All In My Head (Flex)” ft. Fetty Wap from their sophomore album 7/27 before shifting back into high gear with popular hits “Boss” and “Scared of Happy.”
After a night of non-stop performances, the group rounded out the night with fan favorites “Worth It” and “Work from Home.”
Paid rodeo concert/attendance for the night was 64,006.
