Mimi Irvin aka “Corporate Chic”,  celebrated the release of her blog Meye Label (pronounced MY Label) March 1, 2014 at the Gite Gallery in Houston Texas. It was an evening of entertainment, fashion, networking, and giving back to the community.

Irvin is an engineer by career, but also a Fashionista and Naturalista and an advocate of individual style achieved on a budget.  Her fashion-focused blog  inspires women to “Dress the Part, Shop Smart.”

The recent launch provided insight on how Meye Label was created from the idea of Irvin’s Corporate Chic Facebook page.  Corporate Chic captured her day-to-day edgy yet sophisticated work attire on a budget, however, Irvin communicated that “As women we are not Corporate Chic every day.”

Meye Label was created to show all women – a wife, mother, daughter, sister, or friend – that you can shop resale, thrift or consignment and look fabulous. You can shop your local bar gain stores such as Target and Walmart and transform it to your style.

Then the fun of the evening really began with Irvin showcasing a Treasure Find Fashion Show featuring clothes from Buffalo Exchange on 2439 Bissonnet St., Houston Texas.

Four fabulous women (Tanaka Smith, Jasmine Winters, Teriya Richmond, and Chalice Ebow) were styled by Mimi in outfits that were $100 or less and ROCKED  each outfit.   As they walked out to “I’m Every Woman” by Whitney Houston, the crowd was excited. The lyrics were perfect. We are every woman!

Irvin’s promotes her motto of “Dress the Part, Shop Smart,” but  also loves to see women stand tall, walk with confidence and be themselves.

Many thanks to everyone who was a part of the wonderful celebration.  I’m sure this will not be the last of Meye Label.
