The Screen Actors Guild Awards® presented its coveted Actor® statuettes for the outstanding motion picture and television performances of 2018 at the 25th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® Sunday at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium Expo Hall.

Black Panther received the Screen Actors Guild’s top award in the motion picture cast performance category. The film also has garnered seven Academy Award nominations.

The Marvel film was the highest grossing film domestically in 2018 earning a little over 700 million at the box office according to Box Office Mojo. On the list of All Time Highest Domestic Grossing Films, Black Panther ranked no. 3 behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens (no. 1) and Avatar (no. 2).

The Walt Disney Company, distributor of the record-breaking movie, will celebrate Black History Month with a free screening of the film at select theatres Jan 1 – 7. Movie goers must register online to receive free admission to the movie as it makes a limited-run return on the big screen.
