CleRenda McGrady’s vision for the 2nd Annual PUSH Girls Academy Brunch was realized when men from all walks of life answered the call to support the girls in their lives making the event’s “It Takes A Village” theme, a reality.

A mix of fathers, grandfathers, uncles, nephews, cousins, and family friends, in attendance, escorted their girls onto the dance floor during the brunch for an inspiring waltz dance decked out in their formal white gowns. McGrady commended the host of men who answered the call to be that “Village” in their girls’ lives.

“Thank you to the #GirlDads (and granddads, uncles, cousins, nephews and family friends) that gave of your time to be with these beautiful girls and remind them how special and valuable they are,” said McGrady.

The Sugar Land resident launched the Academy to provide participants with the “3 E’s” – experiences, examples, and exposure to enable them to “see what’s possible, dream bigger and expect more from life.”

“It is through these three pillars, that these young ladies can see that possibility exists, and can dream a new dream. These 25 young ladies are each uniquely gifted, talented and ready to make their mark in the world, said McGrady. “Sometimes, all we need is just a little “PUSH,” to become who we are created to be.”

News of the tragic deaths of Kobe Bryant and his daughter, and those traveling with them, followed by an outpouring of tributes displaying the special bond between father and daughter, reminded the PUSH Girls Academy Brunch founder of the importance and strength of #GirlDads.
