Fueling your dream car…
Sit back and picture your dream car. Now imagine taking that car down the Pacific Coast Highway in California. Sounds like fun, huh? Since this is your dream car, I can’t imagine you letting it sit in the garage too often. I bet you’d drive it as much as possible.
Now that we’ve established that you’re going to be tearing up the streets in your dream car, think about the maintenance, tires, breaks, oil, wash, wax, and most importantly fuel. Sounds as if it can get pretty expensive, but you don’t mind, because it’s your dream car.
I’m guessing that this car will require 93 octane fuel (premium), but again you’re more than willing to do what it takes to keep that car of yours running and performing at its highest level. And at the end of the day, you’ll securely tuck that car away under the protection of a car cover in the garage.
This leads me to the question; why would we treat our cars better than our own bodies?
Imagine putting that same time and effort into yourself. How much better could you feel? How much better could you look? How much better could you perform in the activities you enjoy doing?
We’re willing to pay a premium price to put premium fuel in our cars and pay a premium price to put horrible fuel (fast foods) into our bodies. (yeah, doesn’t make sense to me either)
What about your maintenance; why are we okay with paying an arm and a leg for medications (your oil change, breaks, and tires) when half of our complications can be solved with a healthy diet and exercise? Then at the end of the day, you probably aren’t sleeping as much as you’re supposed to. By simply eating right and getting the correct amount of rest you can combat a multitude of issues. Now throw exercising into the equation and you’ll be performing at your highest level in no time.
Remember, we can always get another dream car, you can’t get another body; take care of “you” like you’d take care of your
