Houston filmmaker publishes “35 Love Notes to Self”
Houston-native Micole Williams celebrated the release of her latest book, “35 Love Notes to Self,” a journal of positive affirmations that she spoke to herself as she took a step of faith to leave her hometown of Houston to journey to Los Angeles to fulfill her creative dream of storytelling. The recent book signing was held at The Gite Gallery in Houston.
The affirmations in the 90-page journal were originally published on Williams “Eclectically You Experience” blog and were compiled to inspire readers to practice self-love and self-care in order to fulfill their own dreams and live out their purpose.
This is the 4th book written by Williams, who previously wrote the novel series, “Tangled Web of True Love Tales” and “Toxic Ties Trilogy,” and the non-fiction, Amazon Best Seller “Miss Lit for Life Lessons.” Her latest work provides individuals with a dedicated space to pause, reflect and affirm their own hopes and dreams.
In her purse-size book, Williams shares positive affirmations with the aim of helping readers initiate change in their thought lives that ultimately translates to their lives.
“After surviving many storms and overcoming many challenges, today, I still have to affirm myself in order to continue to move forward,” shares Williams.
Her notes of affirmations were pivotal in guiding Williams as she left behind a career as an educator and all the comforts of home and family to follow her dream after a major health scare awakened her to the need to live life in the now. The affirmations helped usher in a new season for Williams to redefine and rewire her brain, break negative thought patterns, speak many things into existence and keep moving forward no matter what.
A 2021 graduate of Houston Baptist University where she earned a Masters in Fine Arts in Screenwriting, Williams wasted no time in spreading her wings of faith and soaring in the direction of her dreams. That faith and determination led her to chronicle her journey in an autobiographical documentary, “365 Days in LA,” that garnered film festival success and premiered on Magic Johnson’s Aspire TV Network on Sept. 28, 2022.
In a short span of time, she has worked behind the scenes in Hollywood on TV shows like “Big Brother” and “Unsung” with more to come.
A featured author at three major Texas universities, the NAACP Convention and the National Association of Black Journalists, Williams invites readers to use the curated affirmations in her new book to begin practicing the self-love and self-care that will point them in the direction of fulfilling their own dreams. “35 Love Notes to Self” is available on Amazon.
