Houston Texas 18-year-old teenager Madison Durio is making waves in the community with the debut of her Not for Profit, Myndz, Inc. Her inaugural event will take place on May 21, 2023. It will be a free and fun for all family Sunday Funday. To recognize the month of May as Mental Health Awareness Month, this inaugural event will promote mental health wellness and stress relief.
The event is open to the public, and will offer free, fun filled activities to everyone. The event will be held from 2 PM to 5 PM at Hermann Park Conservatory in the Celebration Garden on Sunday, May 21, 2023. The day will be filled with exercise and fun activities for all, including yoga, meditation, a bounce house, face paintings, games and much more.
Mental health challenges have become more prevalent than ever before due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has resulted in a sudden shift in the way people live, work, get educated, travel and interact with each other. The sudden and abrupt change has caused a lot of stress, anxiety, and depression in people, leading to ongoing mental health concerns.
Madison Durio, founder of Myndz, Inc., is an advocate of mental health who understands the importance of balancing challenging times and stress. “The pandemic has had a significant impact on mental health, and I want to do something to help,” said Madison. “I believe that by bringing the community together and providing resources and support, we can make a difference in people’s lives.” Managing mental health is preventive health; all too often people are unwilling to acknowledge mental health challenges until tragedy occurs.
In response to this crisis, Madison decided to start Myndz, Inc., a Not-for-Profit organization focused on promoting mental wellness in the community and providing resources to individuals by offering healthy coping strategies to deal with the challenges and difficulties of daily life.
Myndz, Inc.’s Sunday Funday in the park event is just the beginning. The organization plans to offer a range of programs and services to the community, including mental health think tanks and workshops.
Madison is passionate about her work and is determined to make a positive impact in her community. She believes that mental health is just as important as physical health and that
everyone deserves access to resources and support that can help them improve their mental wellness and manage stressors of daily life.
“We are excited to launch Myndz, Inc. and provide a safe and supportive environment for people to come together and talk about mental health,” said Madison. “We hope to create a community where everyone feels welcomed and supported.”
The Sunday Funday in the park event is free and will be fun for all. However, donations are welcome. Proceeds will go towards supporting Myndz, Inc.’s mission to promote mental wellness in the community. Participants are encouraged to bring their families, friends, and loved ones to enjoy the day and learn more about mental health and coping strategies for stress and trauma.
In addition to the activities, there will be mental health professionals and advocates available to provide information and answer questions that participants may have. The event will also feature live music, food, and vendors selling items related to stress relief.
Myndz, Inc.’s Sunday Funday in the park event is an opportunity for people to come together and learn more about stress relief. By breaking down the barriers and stigma surrounding mental health, the organization hopes to create a more open and accepting community where everyone feels supported and valued.
“We want people to know that they are not alone,” said Madison. “We are here to help and support each other, and together, we can create a healthier, happier community.”
