Micole Williams Celebrates Screenings of New Documentary

An inspiring exploration of faith, divine connection, and personal testimony receives its first festival screenings and honors.
This June marks a major milestone for Houston-area native and filmmaker Micole Williams, as her latest documentary, How Do You Hear God?, makes its official debut in New York. The film will premiere at the African American Women in Cinema Film Festival (AAWIC) in New York City with a special recognition at the Villager Awards in California.
The screenings represent not only a professional achievement but a deeply personal journey for Williams.
“This project was born from a place of surrender,” Williams shares. “I had other projects in motion, but I felt called to stay open to whatever God had next. What emerged was this unexpected, spirit-led documentary—one that continues to teach me about trust, creativity, and calling.”
“How Do You Hear God?” weaves together honest, heartfelt stories from believers across different backgrounds and regions, capturing their unique ways of connecting with the divine. From bustling New York City to serene corners of Los Angeles, the film speaks to the universal search for spiritual guidance—regardless of age, race, or denomination.
“It’s not just a film,” Williams explains. “It’s a reflection of the many voices and quiet moments that reveal how God speaks—often in ways we least expect.”
The excitement continues in California, where Williams will be honored with a Villager Award in recognition of the film’s contribution to storytelling and its impact on community and spiritual life.
